Episode 137: Is Perfectionism Driving Your Hormone Imbalance? Cortisol, DHEA & Adrenal Testing
Hormone imbalance has cascading effects all throughout our body, so understanding the root cause is essential for addressing this issue. In this episode, Erin breaks down the symptoms of adrenal fatigue and answers questions relating to how your stress response works, how it can get wonky and how to determine whether this is a problem for you. This is PART 1 of a deeper dive into adrenals, HPA axis, cortisol, DHEA, and adrenal function testing and what different results may mean for you.

Episode 127: How to Feel Better (No More Back Pain!)
Do you have back pain? Then this episode is a MUST LISTEN. This is an interview with Sara Curry, co-owner of Blaze Yoga Studio in Portsmouth, NH. Sara found yoga when a lifetime of contact sports and weight lifting left her debilitated by back pain. After using yoga to rehabilitate her own body and mind, she dedicated herself to a life of helping others take back control of their health, wellness, and their lives. Sara’s classes blend physicality and meditation toward the same goals: healing, health, and self-awareness.
Far and away the top downloaded episode, this conversation unpacks sources of back pain, problems with the current models for pain treatment and why I find Sara to be a true role model. Originally aired Feb 2018.

Episode 124: Strictly Biz - Are Clients Feeling Entitled to Your Time?
Part of managing your anxiety is managing your energy, and last week I discussed how establishing your own sacred, grounding practice is a smart antidote to festering anxiety. While a morning ritual doesn't magically make all of the world's problems disappear, it *does* give you the fortitude to navigate whatever lies ahead. We tend to be much less reactive and much more grounded and calm when we are making sure our own needs are being met, and when we are not sacrificing our own needs to keep other people comfortable.
This episode is part one of a three-part Strictly Biz series all about entitlement in business. You’ll want to listen to this one if you’ve ever struggled with setting boundaries in your business or finding more of the people you want to work with. I talk about how I realized I needed to up my boundary game, building resilience and how setting boundaries in my business has not only NOT hurt it, it’s actually enhanced it. Setting (& keeping) boundaries has allowed me to find more of the people who respect them, and that, in turn, allows me to keep showing up in a big way.

Episode 123: Creating Your Morning Ritual
Feeling overwhelmed with life’s “not-knowingness” lately? You’re not alone. It seems that emotions are really tough right now. Between the pandemic, the election (that this episode is being released on election day is not lost on me), last minute changes with school, work and other plans - we’ve got lots going on and pulls in many different directions.
With all of this, it feels like an especially good time to talk about how to establish a grounded, sacred space for yourself. This episode is all about how to create a morning ritual that you’re drawn to and is meaningful to you. I’ll unpack what my 3 day panic attack taught me, how to create and take up space for yourself and why it’s so important to commit to yourself, even if just for a few moments, each day.

Episode 118: Intuition, Energy Medicine & Personal Power
This episode is for you if you’ve been struggling with feeling spun out or paralyzed (or even both!) by life’s circumstances. Today I’m delving deep into intuition, energy medicine, personal power, and how this all relates to my “witchier side.” I talk a lot about the solar plexus and all the ways it manifests in our lives, how it feels to be out of balance with it, and ways you can harness your own unique energy to step into your power and regain a sense of control with your health—and in your life.

Episode 115: Strictly Biz - Determining Your Yes from Your No
This episode is for you if you have a challenging time discerning your YESes from your NOs.
I talk a LOT about boundaries and saying no...but you don't get far in business as an entrepreneur without a saying YES a real lot. So how do you recognize the things that need your energy from the things that don't? Today I’ll take you through my 3 step process to determine my yes or no. I will also address a listener question that came in about this very subject!

Episode 111: Sh*t We Don't Talk About (Good Girls Gone Bad)
Burnout, Boundaries and Butts!
This special episode is a compilation of conversations with business owners & moms on how we’re navigating burnout & why we need to be ‘bout it ‘bout it with those boundaries.

Episode 109: Human Design with Aycee Brown
In this episode we’re talking about human design with Aycee Brown. The quest to understand ourselves better has been true for so many. When you’re feeling like you’re not in sync with everyone else, with the right tools you can let go of that belief that something is wrong with you and that you shouldn’t try to be someone else. Aycee is a psychic channel, spiritual guide and the founder of Good Night Darling Co. She knows what it’s like to live in a mental space of self doubt and fear. She overcame that through trial and error, taking risks, and betting on herself. Listen to learn more about how to figure out where and why you belong, and to live through your core instead of conditioning.

Episode 108: Conversations Around Weight Loss with Lucia Hawley
In this episode I’m interviewing with Lucia Hawley, who is a functional nutritional therapy practitioner with a master’s degree in Social Work and Clinical Mental Health. She teaches overwhelmed women how to stop dieting, lose weight for life, and to master their minds instead of counting one more point calorie or macro. Listen in as we discuss topics all related to not only how our bodies work, but how and why our bodies, minds, and spirits were created to radically coexist.

Episode 106: Tools for Working Through Anxiety
The conversation in this episode is a little different because it’s coming straight from my heart. We’re celebrating three years of the Funk’tional Nutrition podcast and it feels like I’m sitting and talking with friends. But don’t worry, there’s plenty to learn in this episode. If you’re suffering from anxiety, this episode is for you. I talk about herbs and supplements that work for anxiety, ways to process anxiety, and what to do when it feels like nothing is working.

Episode 102: Your Wellness Business in the Time of Covid
There is this collective freak out happening with most small business owners about what to do with their businesses moving forward. So, I’m talking about something different - business - which is why this is a bonus episode. I’m sharing some of what’s in my head, like how to be a leader and why you need to be a leader, what NOT to do on social media, where to invest your time, and what to watch out for. I also cover how my mid-pandemic program launch went. Tune in if you’re a small business owner!

Episode 98: On Boundaries & Burnout with Audrey Holst
If you struggle with setting boundaries, and end up burnt out, this episode is for you. I’m interviewing Audrey Holt, who is the founder of the Fortitude & Flow® Process which fuses movement and mindfulness to create sustainable action. We talk about how burnout builds, why anxiety is contagious, and why it’s so hard to set boundaries.

Episode 96: Breathwork for Resiliency with Robert van der Heyden
"The whole goal of this, besides inoculating your immune system & helping you transition from a fight-or-flight state to a more relaxed state, is you’re creating space for yourself.”
Robert van der Heyden is a resilience coach and he helps people to create more energy, better habits, and become resilient through movement, recovery training, and primarily breathwork. Tune in as we discuss why all stress isn’t bad, cultivating more presence, and how to create resiliency with a daily practice.

Episode 94: Fear Response & Nervous System Down-regulation
Tune in to hear why your digestive issues might be kicking up right now, pain flares & fear, how to groom your relaxation response (and why you must), practices for downregulating the nervous system during high stress times, and why extra nervous system support can help.
